Here at Coleg Cambria, we are now looking for an Assessor in Hairdressing to join us on a casual, hourly paid basis.

Reporting to the Commercial Hair & Beauty Manager, you will generate and deliver current commercial training whilst assessing students using a range of methods. You will prepare and agree training action plans to meet identified needs of both the organisation and individuals and develop and maintain links with industry and commerce to enable the achievement of agreed targets. Contributing to internal quality assurance including verification of assessment processes, you will agree, monitor and review performance targets and ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of all documentation to provide clear audit trails to satisfy both internal and external auditors.

As one of our Assessors, you will hold a Level 3 hairdressing qualification, hold an Assessor or Trainer qualification and have a proven record of success in delivering hairdressing training to the National Occupational Standards of Level 3 or above. You’ll have experience of successfully managing a commercial hairdressing salon and have the style and strength of character to inspire confidence in clients and peers.

With a genuine desire to take maximum advantage of an excellent learning and career opportunity, you will be approachable to all staff, learners, members of the public and partner organisations and have an appreciation of the local economy and local training needs. You’ll have emotional intelligence, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be self-motivated with the willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Knowledge or experience of coaching for sector competitions would be a distinct advantage, however this is not essential.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable.
