My client requires an experience Produce Development Engineer to join their manufacturing site in Milton Keynes.
Job Purpose
My client designs and manufactures a range of materials handling and storage solutions, primarily for industrial applications - These include Pallet Racking, Shelving, Lockers, Cabinets, Mobiles and Small Parts Storage.
Products and components may be manufactured in-house or through outsourced suppliers. Manufacturing techniques can include, but are not limited to, fabrication from sheet-metal and coil, including roll-forming; polymer extrusion, injection and rotational moulding; aluminium extrusion and machining.
The Product Development Engineer function is to support the development of products and continuous improvement of existing ranges. Activities involve the Whittan Group of companies in line with business and departmental strategies. Projects will vary from developing entire ranges, to individual components/features.
The role includes working together with Test and Structural Engineers on new developments and planned product verifications of products/components/features.
Key goal - to enhance products by optimizing designs to engineer out manufacturing and material costs, rationalizing ranges, and/or reducing production, installation or warranty issues.
The role will be based at their Milton Keynes site, but may require occasional work of one or more days at other locations around the UK and Europe
