Primestaff are working with our well-established client to recruit a Production Manager for their busy Food Production operation based in Scunthorpe. The role will manage the day to day operations on site leading the manufacturing team from goods in and processing to packing of finished goods. This role will have direct responsibility for Safety, Quality, Productivity and waste.
Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate:
• Ensure all products being produced meet all the necessary and agreed specifications
• Ensure production procedures are carried out to comply with the Quality Manual and HACCP system.
• Ensure that there is a drive for efficiencies and continuous improvement in all areas.
• Ensure all used and unused products are documented to comply with all traceability and stock rotation requirements.
• Ensure all paperwork/documentation is completed correctly and signed off in a timely manner.
• Maintain good GMP.
• To manage the capacity of the factory, maintaining yield and productivity.
• Ensure all staff are trained and competent in the tasks they are set and ongoing training needs are identified.
• Setting and working within budget restraints
• Responsible for maintaining the correct staffing.
• Lead customer visits including BRC and other audits.
Skills and experience required:
• Ideally degree educated but not essential; food science, food technology, or manufacturing engineering, or in a similar discipline would be a distinct advantage.
• Previous experience in a production management role experience in a food manufacturing, storage or handling industry.
• Leadership Skill: able to manage teams effectively with leadership and a positive approach
• Qualified in Iosh or Nebosh with a full understanding of Health & safety in a busy production environment along with Haccp essential
• Time-management Skill, able to effectively prioritise productions schedules and staff planning to ensure fast paced production continues
• Continuous improvements skills and experience essential along with knowledge of OEE. ideally
• Must be a strong communicator and able to make sound production decisions
• Able to train and mentor staff in line with production and personal KPI's
• Experience of Audit procedures and management
Hours: Full time hours to be discussed in terms of business requirements at interview stage
