Primestaff are working with our well-established client to recruit for an experienced CIPD qualified HR Manager for a busy manufacturing operation based in Grimsby. Reporting directly to the MD and supporting the whole HR function within the business and managing a small team.
Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate:
* Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders and line managers
* Provision of employment advice and innovative HR best practice
* Coach and support the management team to deal with people issues effectively and potentially high-risk situations including terminations, long term absence and other complex HR issues
* Support the HR team within their distinct areas to further develop their skills and capability
* Interpreting, advising and implementing HR policies and procedures
* Industrial relations; supporting the leadership team through Union negotiation & consultation processes
* Recruitment, selection and onboarding
* Co-ordinate and oversee the Apprenticeship Scheme
* Identify and develop key talent and succession plans
* Develop and deliver training events to the management team covering various HR topics
* Leading various HR projects, as applicable
Skills and experience required:
* CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD qualification
* Previous experience of managing similar responsibilities within a manufacturing environment is desirable, but not essential
* A confident and articulate individual with the ability to challenge and influence, as well as be challenged
* Accurate and detail conscious, able to interpret information using HRIS and data and provide clarification and explanation
* A competent user of Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Proactive and highly organised, able to work autonomously and coordinate team priorities
* Excellent and sensitive communication skills at all level
* Tact and diplomacy with the ability to deal with difficult situations
* A high level of confidentiality and discretion
* Customer focused with a positive attitude, independent and proactive
* Proactively addressing urgent work ensuring a smooth, timely process and effective delivery of initiatives
* Broad administrative experience - ideally gained within a manufacturing environment
Hours:
Monday - Friday 39 hours
