Dumfries & Galloway Mental Health Association is currently looking to fill the following posts in our Housing Support Service, Dumfries:

Outreach Support Workers– 30 hrs per week – Ref: HSS30

Bank Support Workers – As and when required – Ref: BWHS

Both roles have the opportunity for over time.

Support Worker specifications

  • Have the ability to work on your own initiative and with your team colleagues.
  • Be flexible with working days/hours to meet the needs of the service.
  • Work to a rota system, weekend working will be required.
  • Possess knowledge of the Health & Social Care Standards and SSSC Codes of Practice.
  • Hold SVQ Level 2/3 in Care or Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Have experience of working within the Health and Social Care sector.

The above post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to join the PVG Scheme and provide a Scheme Record, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by D&G MHA.

If you are successful in your application you will be required to achieve registration with SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment. It is illegal for us to employ any social service workers who are not registered within the required periods.
