We have a great opportunity for a Production Planner to join the growing team of one of the UK’s leading composite manufacturers who supply blue chip clients within the aerospace, rail and leisure industries. Ideally from a manufacturing background, you will be an experienced Production Planner looking for exciting projects to co-ordinate with this growing company at a strategic time in their development. The Production Planner will have a passion for co-ordinating projects, ensuring goods are manufactured in a cost-effective way, meeting quality specifications within budget and on time. You will enjoy building exceptional working relationships with colleagues in all departments of the organisation as well as developing excellent relationships with all your blue-chip clients. A key aspect of the Production Planner’s role will be a passion for report preparation for the Senior Management Team suggesting ways of improving operational efficiencies and contributing to the growth of this exceptional organisation.

Key Production Planner responsibilities:


  • Liaise with the Commercial and Purchasing Departments - to determine customer requirement;
  • Work alongside the Purchasing Manager and Production Controller – to approve materials, lead-times, costs, manufacturing equipment, and the size of workforce needed to manufacture goods;
  • Develop production schedules, detailing all tasks and predict length of project to completion;
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, human resources and maintenance employees to ensure all workers, materials, and machinery will be available when required;
  • Monitor the project's progress to ensure schedule is followed;
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunction;
  • Organise project paperwork, including purchase orders, and maintain records;
  • Monitor production and raw material costs;
  • Collect and assesses data about the production and team's performance;
  • Prepare production processes reports for management and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
