Accountant

Brook Street (UK) Ltd is delighted to be seeking an Accountant to join our trusted Public Sector client based in Newry on a temporary contract.

As an accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring systems and procedures are in place to maintain data quality, the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and providing guidance and assistance on the main regulatory and technical aspects of the Financial Accounting team.

Duties in this role will include;
* Preparing the annual statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and accounting standards
*Producing all necessary audit schedules and liaising as appropriate with External Auditors
*Providing technical advice and support on accounting and finance matters to the Senior Finance Manager;
*Producing monthly income and expenditure reports
*Assisting with the preparation of cash flow forecasts and monitoring cash flow against forecast
*Developing systems to ensure a high level of internal control is maintained and implementing promptly any agreed internal/external audit recommendations

To be eligible for this role, you will be an Associate Member of the Chartered Accountants Ireland or related body, hold a minimum of two years' experience working in an accounting role and be IT literate, particularly in the use of Microsoft packages.
You will hold a full current driving licence with access to a car for official business travel as needed.

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, averaging at 36 hours per week. In return, you will be paid £15 per hour.
