Education Care Officer

Grade G4 Point 9 - £18,319 pro rata per annum working on a rota basis, covering early and late shifts, across 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year – 37 hours a week

Lincolnshire Wolds Federation is an all through, all need Federation, across 2 schools, providing for young people with complex, severe, moderate additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, communication and interaction differences.

We are seeking a motivated, reflective and enthusiastic practitioner, to join our family of professional staff, as an Education Care Officer (ECO) to work within our innovative Federation, in helping us continue to transform the lives and life chances of all our students.  

The post will be initially based at St Bernard’s School in Louth.  We are looking for creative practitioners with a commitment to supporting the development of young people with learning difficulties. The applicant should have energy for supporting positive behaviour, communication and complex needs and have a relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent / GCSE English and Maths or equivalent. Alternatively, training can be provided as part of our commitment to staff development and in accordance with National Care Standards you would need to be working towards a Level 3 within 3 months of joining the school.

Experience of working in special education is an advantage.

The purpose of this role is to work with individual / groups of students, including those who may have additional needs, in accordance with the outcomes identified on the student’s EHC plan where appropriate and\or as directed by the Teacher / Principal Education Care Officer (PECO) / Head of School. To provide support to teaching staff and the PECO across a range of child centred activities to promote child development and learning, as part of a team responding to the needs of the students.

The role would involve working across the Federation encompassing our residential provision, main school and our Post 16 offer, to provide personalised, purposeful and inspiring opportunities in order to holistically develop the young people in line with national standards during school and non-school hours as necessary.
