About the role

This role offers a rewarding opportunity to shape the growing enterprise agenda across the University.  At a time of unprecedented growth for consultancy and contract research the post-holder will be responsible for supporting and guiding this exciting trajectory for the institution.

You will be responsible for bring the University’s research closer to businesses and other organisations, for guiding staff to develop external relationships and maximising their enterprising activities and portfolios. 

The position will provide maternity leave cover on a fixed term basis for one year, but due to the rapid growth of this activity the position offers a lot of scope to influence and drive forward the knowledge exchange agenda and to influence the University’s contribution to the new Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF).

About you (requirements)

The post-holder will be adaptable and accomplished in providing insight and support to academic colleagues and in working professionally with business, public and third sector organisations.

You will have significant professional experience in the University, private, public or creative sectors with a proven track record in innovation management.  With exceptional communication skills you will excel at initiating and maintaining strategic partnerships and in understanding the requirements of the private and public sectors.  Familiar with the funding available for these activities and with knowledge exchange, innovation and enterprise within a higher education environment you will use an entrepreneurial approach to grow activity in support of the University Strategy.
