Are you experienced in working with children and young adults with Autism and associated learning difficulties?
Principal Resourcing are looking for support workers in Hull and the surrounding area who are passionate about working with children and young adults with a range of special needs such as Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Challenging behaviour.
Our client is looking to fully staff 2 brand new facilities in Hull and the surrounding area. This will include senior positions such as supervisors and a deputy manager.
Main tasks will include:
  • Personal care such as dressing, bathing, toileting
  • Oral and peg feeding
  • Interactive play
  • Going out in the community
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have Experience providing support to a disabled person. In particular experience with learning disabilities and Autism would be an advantage but other relevant experience will be considered.
  • Have NVQ level 3 in Childhood and Youth Studies or equivalent (minimum of level 4 for senior positions)
  • Hold at least 6 months previous experience in Personal Care.
  • Have Strong communication skills
  • Be able to work independently and show initiative when required
  • Have the willingness to encourage and take part in activities with the client
  • Be Reliable and trustworthy
  • Be able to understand and maintain confidentiality
  • Have the willingness to learn the tasks of the role
  • Be patient and have a non-judgemental approach
