This rapidly expanding business based in central Milton Keynes has a great opportunity for an ambitious Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant to join its growing team. Excellent prospects are offered as you will be able to take on additional responsibilities as the company continues to grow.

As the Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant you will be working with an experienced CFO and Finance Manager helping them manage the finances of the organisation across a number of international locations.

Although you must have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, training will be given in any areas that are needed. Your main responsibilities will include;

• Day to day accounting, bookkeeping and all-round Finance and office administration tasks.

• Supporting the finance team and other depts in the business.

• Processing of supplier invoice transactions

• Matching Supplier invoices to Purchase orders.

• Processing of supplier and vendor payments on the business system

• Processing multi-currency banking transactions and making payments on both UK and overseas banking systems.

• Reconciling Balance Sheet control accounts (Bank accounts, Stock, Debtors, Creditors, Vat, PAYE,) and preparing P&L analysis reports

• Issuing Sales invoices on a monthly basis to customers and subsidiaries.

• Reconciling Supplier account balances and payments.

• Assisting in preparation of parent company and consolidated accounts at a month end and also year-end for both internal reporting and external audit purposes.

• Liaising and coordinating with local subsidiary accounting teams and external advisors (accountants & auditors) in various foreign countries.

• Processing and recording credit card and expense transactions

• Preparation and submission of monthly Vat returns

• Maintaining and reconciling Fixed Asset Register and posting depreciation

• Maintaining day to day Banking relationships and Banking systems

• Liaising and providing reports and information to external accountants for the year end accounts and Tax returns (inclusive of R&D Tax credits).

• Any additional responsibilities required for the efficient running of the functional area.

To apply successfully for this opportunity, you will be;

• A part-qualified or experienced Finance assistant (min 2 years) with a good understanding of accounting systems and processes.

• The job will require good numeracy, literacy, communication and organisational skills

• The capability to create and work with MS Excel spreadsheets to an advanced level working with financial models created in Excel

• Experience of using a variety of financial systems in a multi -entity (consolidation), multi-currency environment is desirable.

• Ability to use general office management software and systems.

• A working knowledge of the French language would be helpful although not essential.

• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, clients and suppliers and to perform in an efficient and courteous manner at all times.

• A flexible approach to working and ability to work under own initiative at times in a demanding environment.
