Search Consultancy are working in partnership with a public sector organisation who are looking to appoint an Assistant Director of Governance to be based in either London or Manchester.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
?? Manage and review the corporate governance framework, ensuring it is fit for purpose, reflects best practice, and is proportionate;
?? Develop robust and effective corporate governance performance measures, processes and working practices
?? Provide direction and support to the governance team to ensure the governance arrangements represent best practice
?? Engage with senior staff and relevant directorates to understand the impact of policy development on governance
?? Engage with senior staff and relevant directorates, as a governance and risk management subject matter expert, providing best practice advice to ensure the organisation meets the principles of good governance
?? Lead, engage and motivate the Governance service to ensure the delivery of an effective customer focused service
?? Provide an effective minuting service to the board and its committees, ensuring meetings are properly minuted and ensuring actions are followed through;
?? Ensure proportionate and appropriate levels of assurance are adhered to.
?? To manage the internal audit plan.
?? To participate in learning & development activity and professional development as required in relation to the role
Generic Duties:
?? To manage the team's delivery against agreed targets and quality standards.
?? To lead and manage change in own area and within the wider management community.
?? To manage, support, develop and coach the team enabling high performance.
?? To participate in learning & development activity and professional development, as required, in relation to the role.
?? To contribute to an environment of continuous improvement and excellence.
?? To complete any other duties commensurate with the role.
