CNC Turning Setter

A skilled individual who will be responsible for setting and operating CNC Turning machines.

The successful candidate will be expected to be an apprentice-trained machinist, with previous CNC machining experience (involving both programme prove-out and editing ability).

Essential skills:

• Have the ability to interpret and work from a variety of technical drawings and specifications.
• Have a good understanding of the complexities of working with various materials e.g. stainless steels, duplex and nickel alloys.
• Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Operator Turner.
• Ability to set intricate parts for Turning by installing and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets etc.
• Verify settings by measuring positions.
• Flexible and adaptable to be able to complete tasks with accuracy, and within fine tolerances.
• Experience of precision components is highly desirable.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings including geometric tolerancing.
• A good knowledge of ISO tooling & inserts.
• Mill / Turn experience an advantage.

Job Specification:

• 39 hour week
• Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm / Friday 8am - 1pm (lunch 1pm-1.30pm daily).
• Ability to work overtime daily and on Saturdays if possible.
• Excellent rates of pay based on previous experience /ability.
