ICT Senior Systems Engineer

You will be the senior member working within a small team of dedicated ICT professionals located across both sites (Wellingborough and Thrapston) reporting to the ICT Business Support Manager. You will be the go to person for escalated 2nd and 3rd line technical support.

You'll identify opportunities for development both technically and for the team and, also, the Service Desk. You'll lead on a number of technical projects aimed at continuing to ensure the ICT infrastructure serves the councils, making both networks more resilient, secure and robust as it continues a move to our remote central datacentre over an MPLS network.

The successful candidate will have a computer science or related subject degree, be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent and be able to demonstrate strong technical experience across the board and especially, but not limited to, Citrix administration and configuration (XenApp, XenDesktop and Receiver) Configuring network switches, routers, WAP, firewalls Network administration in a mixed Microsoft/Unix/ Linux environment Virtualisation (VMWare - moving to Hyper-V)

You will have a proactive attitude with a commitment to providing a quality service. You will need to be highly customer-focused with the ability to deliver support and projects, under an ITIL Framework, in a bustling and busy environment.
