This is a superb career opportunity for a highly trained and experienced Health and Safety Manager to work within a specialist manufacturing SME which is on a steep growth curve.  The company is highly regarded for its design, technical competence and innovation and it supplies global markets primarily in the bus, coach, off-highway and utility vehicle sectors. 

This key role forms part of the senior team at its fully integrated manufacturing site in South Yorkshire where it manufactures on a right-first-time basis and utilises specialist equipment. It is on a journey to world-class status and the role of Safety Manger is of paramount importance and mission critical. It is essential that world-class systems and processes are an integral part of the business and the focus of the role is to deliver this.

You will take responsibility for the dissemination of modern health and safety practices throughout the business, increasing the momentum of behavioural safety awareness through a combination of training, effective communications and world-class systems and processes. The Board is absolutely committed to the principals and benefits of best practice in this field and you will be given autonomy to ensure success. 

Candidates will need to come with a training and career to date which has been built in world-class manufacturing environments, you will need to be a proven H&S professional and NEBOSH qualified.  The role involves developing the Health and Safety strategy with the implementation of systems to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 being critical. You will also be responsible for carrying out risk assessments, minimising risk, interfacing with HSE insurance companies and ensuring compliance with all current legislation requirements.
