The College wishes to appoint a KITCHEN PORTER to work flexibly on a casual basis, particularly in the evenings. Joining the College’s Catering Department which provides a comprehensive catering service to its Fellows, Students, Alumni and Staff as well as conference and B&B guests, the role of Kitchen Porter is to assist the team by undertaking cleaning and other duties including dish and pot washing and helping to ensure an appropriately hygienic working environment at all times.
The hourly rate for this post is £9.06 per hour which equates to point 20 on the University’s single pay spine. Other benefits include a contributory pension scheme, free meals when on duty and use of the College gym.
This busy department operates a shift system of early, late and split shifts with weekend working. Flexibility and reliability, once shifts have been accepted are important aspects of the job. Previous experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous; however, on the job training will be given.
