Test Engineer - Abingdon
We have a new and exciting vacancy for a Test Engineer to join an award-winning global technology company developing innovative systems for the international space, research and science industries.
A fantastic chance to become part of a multi-disciplinary team of enthusiastic engineers working on technology that is being used across the world and beyond!
You will be using your technical competency in the environmental testing of Space hardware using both internal and external test facilities. Tests will range from electrical checkouts, magnetic moment, vibration, thermal vacuum testing and even continuity, bonding and isolation testing too.
These duties will include:
* Writing and recording test procedures for multiple projects that are varied in application.
* Providing engineering support to related disciplines such as Product design, Quality assurance and Manufacturing
* Supporting the maintenance of internal test facilities and equipment
* Designing, building and testing support equipment (MGSE and EGSE) required for Environmental testing.
* All testing is to be carried out to European Space Agency (ESA) standards as well as stringent internal quality standards.
Experience and skills required:
* Degree/HND/HNC/Apprentice trained or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
* Ideally having experience working in a class 8 Cleanroom environment but not essential as training can be given
* High attention to detail is essential
* Able to communicate with all levels of the business and occasionally with customers
* Strong team working ethic
* Experience of working within a highly regulated industry
