We are looking for Senior Finance Analyst to join our team in Derby. In this exciting role you will make an invaluable contribution by providing insights that improve the performance and delivery of business initiatives that are integral to the continued growth of our Submarines business. Through close collaboration with associated business stakeholders such as Business Partners, Managers and programme teams, the application of your financial expertise will aid the creation of the products and the services for which we are renowned for.

Key Accountabilities:

Working with the Business Support Team (BST) to ensure collective on time delivery of the BST's deliverables (to include reporting, reconciliations and other activities), preparation of month end and statutory actuals, including communication of any issues; liaison with Nuclear HQ, Finance Service Centre and external auditors where required.

Ensuring clear communication with the Financial Business Partners and associated Business Teams with regard to execution of the process and to agreed timescales.

Decision support and scenario analysis as requested by the Business and Business Partners, in line with agreed timescales. Preparation of forecasts, including communication of any issues. Preparation of reporting packs.

Maximising the use of standardised models ensuring the accuracy and the meeting of deadlines, ensuring that all work is carried out to local work instructions and is compliant to company procedures and policies.

Actively working with the business and associated finance business partners and supporting the Improvement Journey to Process Excellence and pro-actively engaging in improvement activities. Participating in, and helping drive forward the Finance Service Delivery Model, to help support and prepare the business for growth and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Period end processes and practice, along with forecasting and budgeting.

Year-end processes and practice. Experience in process improvement. Basic experience in the Business Evaluation Process.

Proficiency in financial systems (SAP/HFM) is essential.

Cost certificates as well as Long Term Contract accounting experience.

Professional Qualified Accountant. MoD Government Accounting experience is desirable.
