Project Design Engineer

Our client manufacturers foam for a number of applications. They have a large contract with a reputable aircraft manufacture, and are looking for an experienced engineer to take design projects from prototype to full production.
The role encompasses the design and manufacture of aircraft seating, and requires a good skill set in both design and project engineering working as part of a small team, taking new products to manufacture. Taking designs through all stages from prototype - pre production to full production. Applicants need excellent communication skills, liaising between Customer Engineering functions and in house operations.
Previous experience of aircraft / vehicle seating is ideal; however design of soft furnishings would also be a good fit.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Understanding of Design for Production
3D Cad
Aircraft / vehicle seating design
Jig, Fixture & Tooling design
Able to manage projects and work to deadlines
Analytical thinking
Computer literacy
Knowledge of the foam or aviation industries is advantageous
Jig, Fixture & Tooling design
A good range of IT and software skills are required - systems currently in use include;
Inventor 2015
Auto Cad 2013
