Description of role

As the Fundraising and Charitable Partnerships Manager (FCPM), based in our London head office, you will be responsible for managing and delivering key partnership activities and programmes, working closely with teams across a number of business units throughout Kaplan International. Your goal will be to increase engagement with and awareness of fundraising activities, with a particular focus on managing our partnership with one key organisation which exists to advance children's rights and promote equality for girls primarily through education.  Your role will be instrumental in delivering and development multi-layered, high value and innovative long-term strategic partnerships which have lasting impact. 


The FCPM’s main work responsibilities will be:

  • Acting as the coordinator, central point of contact and relationship manager for all key partnerships
  • Developing and implementing a communication plan which raises awareness of our main partner charity and specifically the project which our activities are funding including:
  • sourcing engaging content to develop compelling promotional pieces (online and offline) and campaigns
  • identifying appropriate publicity channels and working with relevant experts to utilise these channels
  • monitoring and tracking engagement levels with campaigns
  • developing and rolling out campaign to encourage employee payroll giving
  • Identifying, managing and motivating fundraising champions across the business to support departmental/divisional fundraising objectives
  • Working with fundraising champions across the global business to develop targets and advise on planning successful events which drive participation, increase fundraising and achieve fundraising goals
  • Maintaining a log of all charitable/fundraising activities taking place within the business
  • Sharing success stories within the business and developing a peer-to-peer support and training network so that successful initiatives can be replicated efficiently
  • Identifying and securing new strategic partnership opportunities with third party non-commercial organisations through well-executed business development strategies, engaging presentations and effective negotiation
  • Developing volunteering opportunities partnerships and creating resource libraries to ensure information is accessible
  • Supporting partners as needed to work to the standards and values of Kaplan International
  • Applying a data-driven approach to inform strategy including design and roll out of surveys
  • Providing up-to-date, comprehensive reports on any charitable/volunteering activity and its impact to funders and stakeholders
  • Assisting with other projects as requested by senior management


Requirements for the role

The successful candidate must possess all of the following attributes, qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelors’ degree in a social science from a well-ranked institution
  • Experience of working on multi-faceted partnerships or projects
  • Evidence of commitment, inside and outside of working life, to the cause of improving educational outcomes and widening access
  • Experience of having spent significant time overseas in a developing economy 
  • Track record in successfully mobilising volunteers to achieve results
  • Skilled in managing multiple stakeholders, building strong relationships and influencing in a cross-cultural environment
  • Track record of delivering on goals by building accountability and increasing engagement
  • Evidence of having used data to drive better decision making
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised and detail oriented with the ability to manage different projects and priorities
  • Passion, enthusiasm and experience in promoting charitable work or fundraising
  • Diplomacy and persuasiveness, ability to build objective lines of argument for action and present views with conviction
  • Proactive, strategic thinker who spots opportunities and can translate these into operational plans
  • Creative, forward-thinking approach, able to innovate and problem solve
