Working Hours: Permanent - Various Part Time Hours up to 24 hours.
The Company: Our client runs a chain of family run department stores is going from strength to strength - as a result they're about to open their 66th store in Worksop. You'll join a team, offering a range of quality products, including DIY, toiletries, wool, crafts, clothing and lots more. It's a team which prides itself on an exceptional level of customer service.
The Role: Love the idea of working in our busy department store? The role of the Sales Assistant position will be to provide an efficient sales service to the general public. You will also help the Company maximise sales and to create customer satisfaction at all times.
Key Responsibilities of the Sales Assistant to include: -
• To provide excellent customer service at all times whilst on the shop floor
• Provide service at the till point;
• To ensure Department stock is replenished on a daily basis;
• Ensuring the department is kept clean, safe and tidy, and, the stock is attractively displayed;
• Re-order stock from warehouse and to also check quantities delivered;
• Ticket merchandise correctly, including knowledge of ticket guns;
• Complete all related clerical duties including inter-branch transfers, checking invoices, debit notes, requisition of tickets, etc;
• Advise Head of Department / Store Manager of damaged and soiled stock;
• Assist in stocktaking preparations;
• Follow procedures to ensure security of stock and cash;
• To report anything suspicious to Head of Department/Store Manager;
• To use the telephone and tannoy as and when required;
• To endeavour to increase knowledge of merchandise, the store and customers;
• To follow the rules and regulations of the Company.

The Candidate: The successful Sales Assistant will be eager and enthusiastic. You'll enjoy dealing with people from all walks of life. You'll be literate and numerate and may have had customer service or cash handling experience before. What really matters though, is that you love the idea of working in this exciting environment.
Key experience essential for the role of Sales Assistant based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire:
• Will live within a commutable distance of the Worksop area
• Any health and safety awareness experience will be desirable but not essential as full training can be given to the right candidate
