My client is recruiting for a Carpenter/Facilities Operative who will join the Maintenance & Facilities team. In this role you will be bringing your skills & expertise to the team so together all areas of maintenance are completed fast & effectively. Main Job Duties:
* To carry out a range of general carpentry tasks on both a planned and reactive works nature.
* To undertake all duties and responsibilities with the highest regard to health and safety of people, product and facilities.
* To assist in the smooth running of the department whilst providing a service to the entire site.
* To ensure that all carpentry duties are completed on site to the highest standards in line with procedures/processes in the most cost-effective manner.
* To contribute to a robust communication process which is 'fit for purpose' covering both internal and external departments/individuals
Customer Service
* To work with approved contractors/suppliers who provide facilities/maintenance cover.
* To ensure that all staff are informed of any works taking place on site which may be disruptive, in a timely manner, in order for alternative actions to be planned as required
Compliancy
* Promote and maintain a high Health and Safety Culture.
* Ensure that all procedures/processes (inc. ISO and Company) are fit for purpose and regularly reviewed.
General
* To actively work towards improving our environmental status including the potential of achieving the ISO Environmental Standard.
* To be responsible for the security of all buildings when acting as the keyholder.
* To assist in any warehouse duties, as required.
* To undertake carpentry and other facilities duties as directed by the facilities team leader.
* Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the position.
* Work in harmony with all other personnel and communicate in an open courteous manner with colleagues and customers.
* Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
* Undertake any training necessary to carry out duties and responsibilities.
* Ensure that Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to at all times in the relevant section of operation.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Carpentry is the core skill set needed, in addition to be able to carry out general building and facilities work
* First aid and Fire Marshall Certificates or ability to gain
* Basic understanding of ISO, H&S and CDM information/regulations
* Focused, well organised with a professional approach whilst prioritising to ensure all work is completed to the correct standards and timescales.
* Possess good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Strong IT systems skills required.
* A current driving license is required along with FLT licence/IPAF etc or the ability to gain.
This role could suit someone who has recently qualified in Carpentry, completed an apprenticeship, or maybe you have been in the industry a long time and would like a change. This is a permanent role with working hours of 08:30-17:00 / 07:30-16:00 Monday to Friday, please contact Lianne for more details
