Our Client who supply to the commercial and industrial services sector based in Leicester are looking for a Transport Operations Manager


*Suitable qualification such as Managers CPC.
*Experience in managing all aspects of a substantial fleet including fork lift trucks

You will be expected to carry out the full range of duties associated with a Transport operations manager some of those are below:

*Manage licensing and keep within legislation making sure maintenance details up to date
*Responsible for the procurement, management and maintenance of the mixed Fleet of vehicles including Fork Lifts
*Provision of leadership and management to staff within the business unit including dealing with grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence issues
*The Transport Manager will act as primary contact with fleet and road transport regulatory bodies including fleet insurers
*Ensure all Operators Licences are kept updated within current legislation including adding/ removing, vehicles / new & old branch locations & keeping maintenance details up to date
*Support and visit each branch to provide rules and regulations with regards to the current road transport laws, schedule visits to comply with O' Licence requirements
*Ensure all digital vehicle units and driver cards are downloaded within the current timescales
*Ensure Tachograph records are stored in the correct manner
*Manage the process of driver hours, accident reporting, vehicle maintenance and servicing
*Ensure Working Time Directive data is regularly updated
*Ascertain training requirements for drivers and other operatives, apply training where required
*Ensure vehicle maintenance agreements are negotiated at competitive rates, covering all aspects of operations to comply with current legislation regarding roadworthiness etc
*Ensure that ALL driving Licences (Cars/Vans/Lorries) are checked every September as part of our Insurance policy
*Maintaining administration procedures relating to Vehicle Licences, Dialcards (Fuel card) & RAC cover
*Responsible for dealing with all Fines/Penalty notifications sent to the company
*Ensure vehicle insurance website is updated on regular basis inc adding Rental vehicles
*Administer London Congestion Charge Account and ensure regularly updated
*Administer Group Fleet policy and negotiate on purchase of vehicles via the group leasing company at the most competitive price to facilitate the smooth running of operations and deliveries
*Negotiate on the best prices for Temporary Drivers subject to availability
*Streamline & negotiate with delivery companies for the best prices where appropriate
*Responsible for administration/purchase of vehicle Trackers to maximise the benefits including examination of data provided
*Any other general duties as required by the company
*You will be responsible to the Financial Director
