Here at WAIS, what we do is really important. We save lives. In the UK 1 in 3 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime and in Nottingham we’re here to support those women and children experiencing or escaping it.
We’re looking for a quick thinking individual, with a love of numbers and excellent attention to detail, to maintain our financial systems alongside our Finance Officer and Head of Finance and Business Services. You’ll have a flexible approach to getting things done, be excited about the challenges and opportunities facing the charity sector and be passionate about the work we do.
We’re the sixth largest accredited domestic abuse charity in England. We’ve been around for almost 40 years and in that time we’ve built up a real depth of knowledge. We currently have 85 employees and an annual turnover in the region of £2m.
WAIS is an ambitious and resourceful charity, passionate about helping women and their children move forward to live their lives free from abuse. In a year, we answer around 10,000 calls on our helpline, support over 6,000 women and 260 children.
The role
As a member of our admin team, you’ll work closely with our Head of Finance and Business Services to provide day to day financial processing of all accounting transactions. You’ll have experience of working in a financial administration role including responsibility for processing payments, income, banking and petty cash.
It is an occupational requirement that applications are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
WAIS is committed to equality and diversity and encourages applicants from BME, lesbian or bisexual backgrounds.
In our annual staff survey, 95% of our employees would recommend WAIS as an employer, 98% stated that they feel proud to work for WAIS while 100% consider that WAIS is an inclusive organisation that values diversity.
Unfortunately we can’t accept CVs.
