Learning Support Practitioner (Student Support, Teaching Assistant) ASKL72211

Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

Their Learning Support Practitioners provide additional support and care to students with learning difficulties or disabilities across the College.

They are currently recruiting for people with experience of supporting young people on a 1:1 or small group basis in an educational setting. They would expect applicants to have an understanding of some of the following Special Educational Needs – Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, social, emotional difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, dyspraxia and moderate to severe general learning difficulties.  Our client has two part time roles available (0.8 FTE) for 30 weeks of the year. Fixed Term until 24 May 2019.

Although you may be deployed across curriculum areas, they are keen to place staff according to particular experience and subject knowledge. Our client requires suitably qualified and experienced staff for their maths and English department to specifically assist in supporting the delivery of functional and GSCE maths and English qualifications.

The successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.
