Position: Calving Manager Ref: 1964
Location: Cornwall
The Farm:
A 1500 acres dairy farm milking 2000 cows which are housed all year round. They have covered 11 acres of land with cubicles milking in a 60 cow rotary parlour, also automatic yard scrapers, TMR Feed, silage, maize and whole crop.
The Role:
We are looking for a Calving Manager; the successful applicant will be:
- Looking after the herd health and making recommendations
- Keeping records and passports of the herd
- Feeding, and helping out with the milking
- Doing general farm work, so experience with TMR and tractors is beneficial
The Applicant:
Dairy experience is essential for the role, someone who's a competent milker, managed a team before and looking after herd health
Accommodation:
2 bedroom cottage 6 miles away from the farm.
Additional Info:
This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
