Decision-making

The post holder will be expected to use discretion, judgement and a professional approach when dealing with staff, students and visitors to SSI and if required the PVC Office.

Experience, knowledge and skills

The post holder will be expected to show an active approach to learning, and be keen to build experience and knowledge of students, programmes and academic administration. Accuracy and a high attention to detail are key, as are the ability to form effective working relationships with administrative colleagues and academic staff.

This role is customer facing and the post holder requires a high level of communication skills.

It is essential that the post holder is a competent user of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of other University systems e.g. SITS, Accelerate and ELE is desirable though proven experience of other systems will indicate capability.

The post holder needs to be a proactive self-starter, with the ability to work in a team-based environment, without constant supervision, liaising closely when required with academic and administrative staff in SSI and the College to deliver within timescales. The post holder will also need the ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
