We require 2 Intensive Housing Support Workers to work within Salisbury Supported Housing.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience working with the homeless and the issues they face. The role requires someone who is willing to work flexibly to meet the individual's needs, providing first class support for them to achieve their goals. If you have a good work ethic, are flexible, have plenty of energy and motivational skills then we want to meet you.

You will be working directly with 6 entrenched rough sleepers with complex needs.

2 x 25 hour per week posts on GBP9.59 an hour, with the opportunity for overtime.

This is a temporary post until 31st March 2019, with a possibility of a permanent position.

Key Performance Objectives:

  1. To provide intensive support to service users by enabling them to address their needs, maintain their license and achieve their aspirations for independent living
  1. This job description is generic and applies to all Intensive Housing Support Workers and needs to be person-centered. The duties will be determined by the individual needs of the service users being supported
  1. meets the needs of individuals from all sections of the community and is sensitive to and respectful of diversity
  1. is consistent with best practice and standards

Essential Skills

  • Experience of working in supported housing or a related field
  • Experience of working unsupervised and on your own initiative
  • Ability to form and maintain professional working relationships with a range of individuals and organistions
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good IT Skills
  • Experience of forming and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Good working knowledge of the welfare benefits system
  • Experience of involving service users in improving services
  • Experience and knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and related issues
  • Ability to record information accurately, objectively and within prescribed timescales
  • To currently hold or be committed to personal development through training
