DESCRIPTION

The company seeks Principals to undertake a complex and broad scope of responsibilities. Based in London, the post-holders will be responsible for managing project teams comprised of Project Leaders, Consultants and Associates who design and develop innovative long-term business strategies for client corporations that maximise their return on the investment.  Principals are responsible for building and sustaining lasting relationships with clients and engage clients as a partner in a team effort.  The Principal is viewed as a valuable resource by senior clients and develops references and leads from client contacts.

The Principal is also responsible for managing client contact and plays a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.  The teams under his/her supervision employ a variety of analytical tools to analyse markets and market segments, develop frameworks and hypotheses, quantify strategic options, and assess their effectiveness.  The Principal then synthesises these analyses into recommendations for presentation to clients, and prepares and presents oral and written reports to client management.

The duties of the position require that the Principal apply knowledge of advanced and complex principles of financial analysis, business methodology and managerial thought.

Applicants must have achievements gained through a substantial tenure of employment within the last 3 years with either a world leading global management consultancy practice or a large blue chip organisation, demonstrating successful leadership, valuable contribution to a team including leading a team, mentoring skills, personal learning, and exceptional drive and commitment.  Applicants must display evidence of expertise and significant experience within a functional and/or industrial practice area, in which BCG London has a presence.    In addition, applicants must have relevant experience of devising and implementing business strategies involving quantitative analysis, conceptualisation and communication of strategic solutions. Applicants must have the ability to synthesise a problem and possess creativity and strong business judgement. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent high-level numerical skills, excellent and precise communication skills, and have experience of developing long-lasting client relationships.

Accordingly, the Principal must have an excellent academic record and must have achieved a First or a 2:1 from a well respected university or an MBA from a top tier business school. The Principal must also have experience as a management consultant or as a quantitative or business analyst.

As part of the interview process, applicants will be required to conduct case studies to demonstrate their suitability for the role as outlined above.  Applicants will need to perform to a high standard in the case study.
