Our client is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, Newcastle and Penrith.

Joining them as a Horticulture Apprenticeship Assessor, you will liaise with employers to conduct timely progress reviews for Apprentices and provide pastoral support to ensure timely achievement of the apprenticeship.

Carrying out the responsibilities of an assessor, IQA or lecturer to an agreed caseload, in a subject specialism appropriate to the apprentices on programme, ensuring a high-quality experience, you will provide regular and timely reports to the Course Managers on the performance of apprentices and comply with current funding and qualification requirements.

Dealing with Apprenticeship enquiries and applications from learners, employers and referral agencies, you will assist learners in finding suitable employment to undertake an apprenticeship and prepare assessment plans in conjunction with the employer and apprentice.  Monitoring, reviewing and assessing an appropriate caseload of Apprentices, you will assess, train and support learners in the workplace and plan, prepare and teach an agreed number of hours per academic year to a high standard.

Educated to level 3 and/or equivalent in a relevant subject and with experience in the land based sector in relation to the role, you will hold (or be willing to work towards) a teaching qualification and have excellent sector-based links to ensure the curriculum is planned to meet employer and sector needs.
