Our client, a well established business is recruiting for a Finance / Administrative Assistant. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaising with customers with regards to collecting payments due and advising customers of amounts outstanding.
  • Receive and allocate payments accordingly.
  • Assist Finance Manager with adhoc projects as required.
  • Enter monthly payments collected, onto customer file.
  • Set up and amend new supplier details onto System.
  • Raise and enter Purchase Orders onto system. Obtain approval from purchase originator, check and enter supplier invoices onto System, match to PO if applicable. Split supplier invoices by category if applicable. Set up supplier bank details.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements against outstanding invoices received/due.
  • Raise and enter payment onto System, raise remittance advice, raise BACS payment report. Email/fax remittance advice to supplier.
  • Manage expense claims.
  • Filing of all supplier invoices, expense claims, petty cash forms
  • Prepare monthly budgets reports.
  • Research and negotiate new supplier contracts/supplies.
  • Liaise with and respond to customers regarding general enquiries.
  • Liaise with suppliers, place orders and resolve queries.
  • General Administrative tasks as delegated by Finance Manager.
Skills / Requirements

Must have at least 2 years experience of working in a similar financial administrative role.

Good standard of education preferably to 'A' Level standard or equivalent.

Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook

Accounting software (QuickBooks preferred, training will be offered)

Excellent communication skills

Must be numerate with a good eye for detail

Flexible approach to work with the ability to work on own initiative.

Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to deadlines.

Ability to work on own initiative and enjoys working in a small team environment.
