Plant / Agricultural Mechanic

This company has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Engineer / Mechanic to carry out repairs and maintenance to a wide range of construction plant equipment and agricultural machinery both on & off site for their customers.

They will require you to carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing, attend machine breakdowns and effect repairs to ensure minimum downtime. Trouble shoot and fault find defects on machines and carry out repairs as required. The role will involve being self-motivated in managing and prioritising your daily workload; ensuring activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Ideally, you will be apprentice trained in construction machinery/agricultural engineering or be a time served mechanical fitter.

- Candidate must have own tools.
- Experience of maintaining/servicing construction, mechanical plant and or agricultural machinery.
- Knowledge and Skills in: Petrol & Diesel Engines, Transmissions, Hydraulics, Electrical Systems
- Basic skills in Welding, Grinding and Gas Cutting would be an advantage
- Ability to diagnose faults on heavy construction equipment and carry out repairs.
- Able to demonstrate a full and varied knowledge of plant machinery
- Supporting customers with solutions in a timely and effective manner.
- Represent the company by giving a high level of customer service and ensure their custom is returned.

Skills and Experience:

- Applicants must have excellent organisation and communication skills with a good understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- A good understanding of I. Good written and spoken English.
- Able to provide references to supplement your application
- CSCS Card desirable.
- In possession of a full, valid Driving Licence with no more than 3 points
