Electronic Design Technician

FINTEC recruit is seeking an Electronic Design Technician for our engineering client based within a short commute of Edinburgh. This is a permanent role and salary is £28,000 to £32,000 negotiable by experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and development of electrical & electronic product design
• Build and test prototype electronic products to include, mechanical assembly, cable wiring, printed circuit boards assembly (both through-hole-plated and surface mount technology)
• Schematic capture and PCB layout of printed circuit boards
• Fault finding and de-bug of electronic circuits
• Work with electronic drawings and technical documentation
• Project manage trial systems
• Produce project documentation (bills of materials, test schedules, instructions etc.)

Skills and experience required for the Electronic Design Technician role:

• Strong electronic assembly and wiring skills, including surface-mount
• Understanding of analogue and digital electronics
• Ability to multi-task and a Good communicator
• Computer literate (Office and, ideally, electronic circuit layout, mechanical layout)
• Good organiser and finisher
• Minimum HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or similar discipline
• 5 years plus experience in an electronics design or test environment
