Acorn has an amazing opportunity available to join a pipe manufacturing company as a Klin Operative at their factory in Yorkshire. The role offers competitive pay and the chance to work for a highly respected name in the manufacturing industry.
Due to location own transport is required.
Job summary:
- Undertaking general duties reworking product for customer orders.
- Working as part of a team producing fittings to complement the product range.
- All our work is of the highest quality and is supplied into some of the most prestigious building suppliers in the country.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Using power tools and machinery as required and trained in the use of to aid manufacturing processes (all machine and power tool risk assessments must be strictly followed and adhered to at all times).
- Setting machinery using measuring equipment, tapes, rules, squares, levels, and the like to ensure the unit is correct to specification.
- Checking that the unit is correct to drawing and standards, is supported sufficiently and is safe for operators to work on or around.
- Ensuring the product is quality checked by an inspector for confirmation of compliance to drawing and specification.
- Signing off any quality documentation related to the contract or internal procedures as and when required.
- Maintaining equipment by completing any internal/external preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs to equipment.
- Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, attending any training courses, or toolbox talks as the company sees fit.
- Taking full responsibility for his/her workmanship and is accountable for his/her actions at all times.
- Complying with the requirements of the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality system.
Qualifications and skills:
- Candidate ideally has previous experience working in a manual labour intensive environment and is good working with their hands.
- A valid FLT Counterbalance licence is advantageous, however candidates without it also would be considered.
- Most importantly, we are looking for commitment and enthusiasm. People with a positive proactive attitude will be continuously trained and encouraged to progress though the business.
Shifts:
4 on 4 - however flexibility is required as you might be required to work 4 weekdays. Shifts may change but usual are 5:15am-515pm or 5:15pm-5:15am, for weekday shifts it is 6am-4pm.
All breaks are paid so depending on shift pattern it is either 10 or 12 hours per day paid.
Listed pay rate is for Basic rate there are various increments to earn more - extra paid overtimes, unsocial hours etc.
