This is a great opportunity to become a core member within the manufacturing team of a growing and successful business.

Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader, the Assembly Technician works as part of a team, within a high-tech product manufacturing facility. The role includes the inspection and assembly of items which will be joined with other assemblies to form more complete systems. The Assembly Technician will rotate around the manufacturing lines within the organisation to encourage multi-skilling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assemble and test the Company's testing system units in accordance with instructions given and to agreed schedule to the highest possible quality;

* Input into monthly analysis and reporting of performance levels;

* Proactively help to ensure an environment of continual improvement is evident;

* Complete work to an agreed schedule, ensuring components and assemblies can be added to the final product ready for deliver to customer;

* Follow detailed instructions, and provide feedback, to ensure the ongoing highest possible quality of assembly and product;

* Feedback issues to help the team leader to capture and create a concurrent knowledge base system for problem resolution;

* Help team leader to update build and test procedures and instructions as required;

* Help team leader to maintain displayed EQDC and KPI's for assembly area;

* Review process and quality issues with Team Leader

* The job role may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time. Any other reasonable request or work task as allocated by the immediate Line Management. Any other requirements should be identified immediately to the line manager. Duties of the post could vary from time to time as a result of new legislation, changes in technology or policy. In this event, appropriate training will be provided.

EMPLOYER

The Company designs and manufactures industry-leading environmental measurement systems and provides supporting services environmental projects.

THE CANDIDATE

* Relevant technical qualification (or apprenticeship) in Engineering, Electronics or IT Business to minimum of ONC;

* Demonstrable experience in the repeatable assembly of technical electronic equipment to a high level of quality;

* Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies;

* Ability to closely follow instructions and ability to read mechanical and/or electrical drawings;

* Fast learner with the ability to learn new technology fundamentals, show extreme flexibility, and work on several projects and priorities at once.

* Good inter-personal skills and highly driven for continuous improvement;

* Proven team player who can effectively interact with others to accomplish tasks within tight timescales and changing environments;

* Ability to problem solve in a logical manner;

* Experience using MS Office Suite;

* Continually acts with the customer in mind, both internal and external;

* Regularly and independently reviews own position to seek and remedy any perceived weakness;

* Location: Gloucestershire/Herefordshire/Worcestershire;

* Due to the location of the Company, candidates will require a full UK driving licence and own transport;

* 35 hours per week.

PACKAGE

* GBP15,000 to GBP25,000 salary (depending on skills and experience)
