Our Public Sector Client is currently looking for a Planning Officer to join their environment department on a 3 month initial contract.
Although this is a 3 month initial contract, there is scope for extension and other opportunities including permanent could arise.
The successful planning officer will Primarily deal with householder applications but scope of work dip into medium housing applications.
The purpose of the role is to process planning applications, appeals and enforcement including undertaking research, monitoring, surveys and site inspections. You will also undertake e-mail correspondence with clients. Other duties would include, Providing pre-application advice, and ensuring that all statutory and internal procedures are followed in the determination of planning applications.
The successful and ideal candidate will:
* Have 2- 3 years' experience at Planning Officer level
* Experience in Householder applications
* Car driver
* Dealt with IT packages
* Able to come in and hit the ground running
Experience with IT packages such as 'Objective' and 'Uniform' would be beneficial.
Please note that the successful candidate need to be able to work 5 days p/w at the Bedford office for the first 4-6 weeks whilst they learn the systems. Flexible/home working can be accommodated for 1-2 days per week after this depending on the needs of the department
Our client is looking to pay market rate for the role.
