We're working with a leading UK soft fruit propagator as they look to take on an Assistant Propagation Manager.

The Company:

Our client provides commercial fruit growers with high quality plug plants and excellent customer service. They have achieved this by investing heavily in developing unique and innovative growing systems, giving them an edge over their competitors. Over the recent years, this propagation company has experienced strong business growth and expansion, hence why they are now looking for an Assistant Propagation Manager to join the team.

The Job:

With the support and guidance of the Propagation Manager your main responsibility will be the technical day-to-day growing of plants. You'll also assess plants for pests and diseases and encourage best plant husbandry practice across the propagation site. You'll also assist in the organisation and management of both permanent and seasonal staff.

The Candidate:

To become Assistant Propagation Manager you'll have a strong background in growing fresh produce/horticultural plants (preferably soft fruit). You'll have knowledge of pests and diseases in fresh produce and be able to identify them whilst crop walking. It is also important that you have experience of irrigation systems, an understanding of different nutrition levels, conductivity and water quality requirements.

Ideally, you'll have an agricultural/horticultural qualification and your PA1, PA6/PA9 spraying certificates. Forklift driving experience is also a plus. It is essential that you have a full driving licence.
