THOMAS Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for CNC Machinists to join our client's busy team based in Cardiff.
CNC Machinists will be required to work on a rotating shift basis, setting and operating various machines.
Responsibilities:
* Setting and running CNC machines including lathes and VMC machines in line with standard operating procedures.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to help identify and work on quality, efficiency and waste improvement opportunities using quick change over (SMED).
* Inspect the manufactured components with the equipment provided, ensuring that they meet the drawing tolerances stated, to the quality required.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of TPM activities including the required regular machines checks.
* Keep areas clean and ensure safety within work areas.
* Liaising with other areas of the business as appropriate and complete other duties reasonably requested by management.
Skills, Knowledge or Experience Required:
* Proven experience of setting and programming CNC machines
* Apprentice trained preferred but not essential
* Ability to understand tool setting and standard materials
* Experience with running manual machines including lathes, drills and grinders preferred but not essential
* Excellent team player, organised and a strong communicator
