My client is an innovative, market leading renewable energy company specialising in solar energy. Working with local communities, landowners, businesses and home owners they share a real passion for providing cleaner more affordable energy.
Due to company growth a new vacancy has arisen for a Gross Margin Accountant/Analyst. The role will be reporting into the Group Financial Controller and Finance Manager.

Generate gross margin numbers for management accounts and stat accounts. This includes:
Producing gross margin performance and variance analysis against budget and latest expected outcome view
Producing detailed accrued income schedules broken down by customer and by age
Producing detailed daily accrued creditor numbers, built up by customer, to be reconciled against future invoices when they arrive
Work closely with Strategic Finance team to ensure accurate assumptions are built into forecast models
Work closely with Tech and Data Science teams to build gross margin view by customer and continuous daily view on margin
Producing prior period reconciliations in line with industry settlement processes
Validate revenue calculation report to ensure all meter points are captured
Prepares accounts receivable reconciliation report and resolves outstanding balances for assigned properties on a monthly basis
Work closely with Financial Controller to feed in anticipated gross margin transactions into the cash flow model
Perform analytics on revenue results and other revenue metrics
Adhere to documented revenue accounting policies
Participate in the preparation of annual revenue budgets and forecasts
Analyze budget vs. actual revenue variances with the operation team on a monthly basis
Other special projects as assigned
Excellent MS Office skills
Good SQL and Python knowledge
Ability to solve problems accurately and exhibit exceptional proficiency in data management
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities
Solid understanding of Debits and Credits
Ability to effectively communicate, influence and negotiate
Strong reporting and analytical skills.
