Technical Consultant

Content and Code is seeking a Technical Consultant to join the London team.  

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • delivering technology workshops within scope and budget;
  • scoping and identifying client requirements to create robust designs;
  • supporting project delivery from start to finish to include scoping and designing, environment preparation, infrastructure implementation and delegation of tasks to other team members, business alignment, user transition to upgraded platform, and transition from delivery into Managed Services;
  • leading (as necessary) messaging and unified communications related projects in accordance with the Content and Code Project Delivery Framework;
  • supporting sales and marketing in winning new business;
  • escalating appropriate challenges to Head of Technology Enablement and getting designs signed off for delivery;
  • supporting the wider project and operational teams;
  • investigating and reviewing industry standard Messaging, Unified Communications and related security solutions to continually improve service offerings; and
  • ensuring that a deep technical understanding of each service component and application, its architecture and configuration is handed over to BAU support for both client and managed service teams.

Criteria for selection

The candidate must possess the following attributes:

  • have very strong documentation and communication skills;
  • have a high level of expertise in Exchange Server 2007, 2010 or 2013;
  • have a high level of expertise in SharePoint Server 2007, 2010 or 2013;
  • have a high level of expertise with Office 365 and Azure AD;
  • have multiple deployed SharePoint or OneDrive for Business migration projects;
  • have multiple deployed Exchange migration projects to Exchange Online using Hybrid and Staged or Cutover methods;
  • have experience working for a consulting organisation in a professional services environment;
  • have a strong understanding of Identity Management Solutions aligned to Office 365, including Azure AD, Azure AD Connect and AD FS;
  • have a strong understanding of mail archive systems and migration strategies;
  • have a good understanding of server platform requirements (AV, Windows Server, IIS);
  • have a good understanding of networking infrastructure (TCP/IP, Proxies, Firewalls);
  • have a good understanding of Active Directory Domain Services (AD, DNS);
  • have a good understanding of Exchange Online migration tools from vendors such as MigrationWiz, TransValut and Quadrotech. Equivalent tooling will also be considered;
  • have a good understanding of SharePoint and OneDrive for Business migration tools from vendors such as Metalogix, AvePoint and Sharegate. Equivalent tooling will also be considered;
  • have a good understanding and capability using PowerShell relating to Office 365 services and Azure AD;
  • have a good understanding of mobility/BYO devices and services such as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Android and iOS;
  • have a computing-related degree of equivalent industry experience;
  • be proactive, driven and enthusiastic;
  • handles ambiguity without losing focus;
  • have good organisation skills and a strong attention to detail;
  • excels in a fast-paced, challenging and collaborative environment;
  • be interested in engaging with the IT pro community; and
  • have a track record of building long standing relationships with clients.

Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 per annum
