CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent

FULL TIME: 37 hours per week

BAND AND SCALE POINT: Band 7   

SALARY PER ANNUM: (£27,358 - £29,909)

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council is currently recruiting for an Economic Regeneration Officer to work within our Planning, Development and Regeneration service. Reporting to the Economic Regeneration Team Leader this brand new role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to make it their own.

The role will involve supporting the delivery of key regeneration projects, engaging with stakeholders to identify and develop opportunities for growth, and assisting in the development of funding packages sufficient to deliver key regeneration projects and economic growth.

The post holder will work closely with local businesses and the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership to support business development and job growth.  The role will also entail supporting the procurement of regeneration projects, assisting with project implementation and delivery as well as working with the Council’s Town Centre Manager, helping with event organisation, undertaking surveys and compiling and presenting key findings.

You will be educated to degree level and have experience of working in an economic regeneration environment or similar. Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential in order to form positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners. Having experience and an understanding of project management will also be required in order to drive projects forward and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be competent in the use of IT including MS Office, social media applications and managing web content.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team-player as well as capable of working on their own initiative.

You should hold a full driving license and have access to your own vehicle.

We will be holding an open lunchtime event to view the current projects the Planning, Development and Regeneration team are delivering. This will be held from 12:00pm – 14:00pm on Monday 8th October 2018 at the Council Offices, Station Road, Wigston, LE18 2DR.
