We are seeking a Data Production Analyst for a minimum of 3 months based in Gloucester who will be responsible for the following:

  • To support the Performance and Information Team (and indirectly the wider organisation) from a data, information and Business Intelligence reporting system perspective, in order that the Trust is able to deliver its strategic and operational objectives.
  • To work closely with the Head of Performance and Information and Business Intelligence System Manager to develop, implement, and maintain accurate monitoring reports, including performance scorecards and reporting dashboards for the Trust.
  • To manage the production of highly complex data from clinical and corporate systems, and to then produce reports and dashboards manipulating complex data sets, that you are able to present to a wide range of stakeholders ensuring they meet requirements of clinicians, managers and that key messages are delivered and understood.
  • To help promote the use of, and understanding of dashboards, scorecards and reports within the Trust utilising new technologies wherever possible and provide technical support and expertise to the Performance and Information Team.

Key responsibilities

Assist with the implementation of Business Intelligence Reporting Tool within the Trust, including more intuitive reporting with drill into functionality for users and provide training as required.

Key requirements are expert knowledge of SystmOne data and expert working knowledge of SystmOne Strategic Reporting Extract.

Utilise technical skills to provide data and reports in the most efficient manner, such as aggregate storage cubed information and reports that update automatically.

Automate Microsoft Excel processes to save time where possible.

Maintain and update numerous databases tables on a daily basis for Performance and Information team use, including producing tables in the same format for all of the different databases within the data warehouse to enable quicker, more effective reporting.

Reviewed methods of producing information to ensure most efficient processes are utilised.

  • Interpret what is required then manipulate, analyse and interpret data using specialist software, databases and spreadsheets to facilitate decision making processes and support the Trust to meet strategic objectives.
  • Provide research, best practice, information and data analysis to support the Performance and Information Team objectives.

Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of accurate monitoring reports, including performance scorecards and reporting dashboards, for the Trust. The post-holder will determine the best method of presentation and delivery using own initiative but will utilise skills and knowledge from other members of the Performance and Information team.

  • Produce critical analysis of sensitive and highly complex data, highlighting trends, calculating variances and using forecasting techniques projected year end positions.
  • Produce the datasets and submit the mandatory national data flows to Secondary Uses Service (SUS) in line with prescribed timescales. This includes checking for data quality and consistency, and that submitted data items are as prescribed in the technical specifications provided by Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC).

Experience Required:

  • Expert level of skill in information analysis, including the ability to interpret highly complex information and draw conclusions from it. The data may be conflicting.
  • Expert technical knowledge of information systems, including SUS processes and other national requirements and knowledge of NHS data definitions and data dictionary.
  • Specialist technical knowledge to include extracting complex data from relational databases, using SQL and Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex data issues, negotiate and be prepared to justify or defend their position when required.

Working hours: 37.5 per week Monday to Friday

Rate: GBP13.00-GBP14.00 per hour
