We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer, Setter, Operator to work for an Engineering company located in the Huddersfield area.
THE DUTIES:
* To manufacture and produce quality components by programming, setting & operating appropriate equipment.
* To follow drawings to produce correct components to the required standards in the most efficient and cost effective way within the Turning Department.
* Liaise with team leader to ensure most effective and efficient methods are used.
* To overcome production and manufacturing problems, referring up to Team Leader when necessary.
* Ensure components are both dimensionally correct & the visually aesthetic quality of the finished component is in line with company quality standards.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
* Must have keen eye for detail
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures with the ability to implement them.
* Accurate and can get the job done first time
* Experience of working in a manufacturing machine shop environment & programming, setting & operation of appropriate equipment within a turning department.
* Experience of working in a team in a manufacturing department or in a similar environment
* Experience of working with technical engineering drawings in a precision machine shop
* Experience of working to fine tolerances and with a wide range of engineering materials including carbon and stainless steels, aluminium et
* Experience of consistently manufacturing 1 off bespoke components to new designs
* 5S change experience
* Experience of LEAN manufacturing techniques
* Experience of consistently programming & manufacturing 1off bespoke components to new designs
* Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, eg Apprenticeship
* Operate a centre lathe (both CNC and conventional)
* Fanuc controls trained would be an advantage
* Use 4 jaw chucks
* Machine shaft work using steadies
* Machine accentrcs
* Various types of threading and screw cutting
* Crane Lifting Certificate
THE HOURS:
Monday to Friday Days - 40 Hours per week.
THE PACKAGE:
You will be paid a basic salary of GBP26,250 / annum- plus outstanding company benefits
