Secretary required to run the office of this small but multifaceted business at Ingatestone Hall, reporting to the owner, Lord Petre. Duties include all the usual secretarial tasks (simple book-keeping, correspondence, payroll) for which basic IT skills and a knowledge of PAYE etc. is essential.
We are looking for someone who is discreet and able to keep confidences, literate and numerate and, because the office is the communications hub for all aspects of the business, has a friendly demeanour and good communication skills. No specific formal qua;lifications are required.
The work is generally very varied. Although there is a inevitably a certain amount of routine, the management style is essentially relaxed and adaptable. There are well-established and resilient systems in place to deal with most situations but there will be occasions when imaginative initiative will be required.
Normal working hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday to Friday but to some extent we can be flexible in this regard. Remuneration offered is in the region of £400 per week – this rate is reviewed annually in the light of changes in national average earning..
This vacancy arises from the forthcoming retirement of the current postholder and so commencement can be immediate to allow a hand-over period or delayed some weeks
