Founded 60 years ago, this company is a global player in the manufacture and distribution of pet products and accessories. Their UK Head Office is based just off the M62 near Castleford - and is home to an extremely warm and friendly team, now looking for fresh talent.

As an IT Technician, you will provide day to day support to users on a variety of tailored, bespoke and in-house computer systems. This role encompasses 1st, 2nd line support with growth to the 3rd line, allowing you scope to provide truly end to end solutions. You will be required to work both as part of a team and independently, have an analytical brain and be able to communicate at all levels.

Main Duties

- Central point of contact for users in solving problems with hardware and software issues
- Maintain day to day critical systems by ensuring the servers are operational and that all data backups are completed promptly and properly
- Developing and delivering value adding management information
- Providing urgent and ad hoc IT issue resolution throughout the business
- Some flexible and weekend work will be required (eg when upgrading systems)

Required knowledge and skills:

- Technical skills on hardware and software including IT infrastructure, databases and e-mail
- Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10, Server 2016)
- Microsoft Products (Microsoft Office 365 products) "Excel Macro Scripts"
- Oracle Database SQL Scripting
- Understanding Networks (LAN & Wireless)
- Multi Media Communication technology (telephone system plus i/phones etc)
- Database development "Web development"
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Providing technical solutions via telephone and email

Desirable knowledge and skills:

- Ability to produce written reports, give briefings and deliver presentations
- Ability to provide training on new software
- Knowledge of CRM systems
- Document Management Software
- Mobile Device Management (Mobileiron)
- MS Server & Active Directory
- Apple OSX User Support
