Our autism specialist long term/shared care home in Stockport is currently recruiting for a senior to effectively and efficiently deliver the main responsibilities and key result areas within the Senior Residential Support Worker role. To ensure effective service delivery with a view to supporting the positive development of the children/young people, staff, service and organisation.

As our senior residential support worker…

You will support children aged 5 to 18 years of age, being a positive and supportive role model encouraging confidence, self-esteem and essential life skills. As part of the senior team you will support with the leadership of an incredible residential team who work hard to empower these individuals to help them break through their barriers to take control of their lives, and experience happiness and security. Most importantly, you will ensure that they are safeguarded at all times in what can be a challenging environment.

About you

You are caring, passionate and looking to make a real difference to children’s lives.

Experience and a Level 3 qualification in health and social care – children and young people’s workforce - are essential. Experience of leading shifts, key work, completion of monthly written reports and the ability to mentor/coach the team and the requirement to attend meeting of for and behalf of the children and parents Having a good knowledge and understanding around the needs of looked after children particularly those with autism and learning disabilities is also a distinct advantage.

You must be over 21 years of age to apply for this role due to the age range of the young people in the service. (These roles are exempt from the Employment Equality (Age) Regulation 2006).
