Director of Resources (Social Housing)

Newent, Gloucestershire

Salary £105,000 (dependent on skills) plus excellent benefits

Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

Two Rivers Housing is an independent not-for-profit organisation based in the beautiful Forest of Dean, with a £22 million turnover. In 2003 we took on the properties previously owned and managed by the district council, and now we own nearly 4,000 homes across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.

We are currently seeking an experienced leader and qualified Accountant to take on the role of Director of Resources. We are looking to recruit a strategic thinker to deliver results with experience of a social housing environment.

As Director you will embrace change and solutions with a thorough understanding of how the organisation works. Responsible for the overall performance and strategic priorities of the finance, maintenance, development, IT and planned maintenance and homeownership teams you will also be customer focussed and deliver a consistent high level of service.

Using your strong leadership skills, you will proactively develop and implement corporate value for money initiatives to enable the organisation to achieve their objectives. You will effectively develop strategy for the delivery and improvement of services in all areas of your responsibility. This will include design and implementation of processes, policies and procedures in accordance with best practice and relevant legislation and regulation.

With the ability to balance medium and long-term objectives you will implement appropriate performance indicators and performance management practices within service areas to ensure robust management and control. Further to this you will demonstrate your confident communication skills by motivating and developing teams to successfully and efficiently achieve agreed objectives. In addition, you will ensure appropriate resources are in place to achieve strategic priorities through leading a robust budget and business planning process and making necessary treasury arrangements as appropriate.

Essentially you must hold a degree level or equivalent qualification. You must have a leadership development qualification or significant experience in this area and you must hold an  Accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA).

Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence is required along with the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends when required.

We work in a modern, environmentally-friendly office, which has been nationally- accredited for energy-efficiency, sustainability and workplace safety.

We offer a flexible approach to working and work-life balance, including options to use our flexi-time scheme and our agile working policies. Our comprehensive package of employee benefits, includes pension options, health cashback plan, competitive holiday entitlement, private medical and life insurance and more.
