Are you studying toward ACCA / CIMA and looking to join a business that will support you to develop your practical accounting skills alongside your ongoing studies? Do you want to be responsible for producing and presenting financial information that will actually be used to guide the strategy and ultimately impact the direction of the business?

The Head of Finance is looking for a proactive, ambitious and motivated character. You will have lots of support from a CIMA qualified mentor which will allow you to develop and progress rapidly. The business is expanding and recently completed an acquisition. You will have opportunity to be involved in the financial reporting and management of one of the smaller subsidiaries from the outset.

Your role will include:

• Management accounts preparation and presentation.
• Variance analysis and reporting, providing commentary around variance to expectation.
• Supporting with budgeting, forecasting and cash management.
• Working closely with operational managers across the business to help improve awareness of costs, budgets and overspend.
• Analysis of product performance / sales to provide insight into profit and margins.
• Month end routines.
• Supporting the credit control and purchase ledger team.

You will be:

• Studying toward ACCA or CIMA (having completed a degree or AAT)
• Able to demonstrate excellent core accounting skills
• A confident Excel user
• Naturally diligent, ambitious and proactive in your approach
• Confident when communicating financial information to a non finance audience
• Comfortable with balance sheet reconciliation, bank rec, accruals and prepayments, VAT returns.
