This is an opportunity to join a growing managed service provider (MSP) based in central Manchester with clients nationwide. They are recruiting for new technical and non-technical team members to support their continued growth throughout 2018.

They are seeking a versatile senior support engineer to join their technical support team. Working as part of a small team, you will have experience supporting and managing a wide range of technologies, with excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity to work in lots of different areas on a wide range of projects. As a part of their small team you will have a major impact on how they work and the service they provide to their customers.

The role entails:

- Providing all levels of technical support & advice in person, and by phone & email
- Server, workstation & networking setups, management and support
- Contributing to and maintaining internal knowledge base & documentation
- Working with third party vendors and others to resolve problems and improve systems

Required skills

Personal:

- A keen learner with interest in new technologies
Education:
- Degree level qualification in relevant discipline or significant industry experience with strong A-levels

Experience:
- 5+ years' experience working in an IT support capacity - at least 2 years in a senior / 3rd line role
- Must have practical multi-disciplinary experience (see technical skills)

Technical Skills

Essential:

- Experience installing, managing and supporting Windows Server 2012/2016, inc: AD, Group Policy, DFS, DHCP, DNS, IIS
- Experience writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts (Windows Server & O365)
- Experiencing designing and installing networking solutions inc: switching, routing, firewalls, DNS, VLANs, VPN
- Exposure to virtualisation technologies
- Understanding of RAID configuration and storage technologies (SAN, NAS)
- Backup technologies, especially Veeam
- Exposure to Azure, especially Azure AD, Virtual Machines and networking stack
- Desktop support inc Windows 7, 8, 10 and macOS
- Exposure to VoIP technologies
- MDM / MAM solutions - ideally Microsoft InTune

Desirable

- Systems imaging using MDT
- Multi-site AD environments
- MS SQL Server on-prem
- MS Exchange on-prem
- Mac server management and scripting
