Dispensary Counter & Pharmacy Stores Assistant

Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre

Nottingham

(Full time 37.5 hours per week - to be worked between 8.30am and 8pm Monday – Friday on a rota basis including participation in the dispensary rota for Saturdays)

Our client is a unique pharmacy service provider delivering pharmacy services to private and NHS hospitals, and medicines for administration to patients in their own home. Operating from their on-site dispensary in the Nottingham Treatment Centre, they are looking for a Dispensary Counter & Pharmacy Stores Assistant to join their team to participate in the running of the dispensary and pharmacy stores.

You will have a range of key responsibilities within the team to include:

  • Ensure correct and safe unloading of goods.
  • Ensure goods are correctly recorded and distributed.
  • Ensure delivery notes are checked and discrepancies are sorted.
  • Ensure the wholesale dealers service achieves the agreed level of quality required by contractors and customers.
  • Assist in the process of invoice payment through electronic systems.
  • Assist in communication with suppliers to resolve stock issues.
  • To undertake other roles within the department as requested by the Pharmacy Manager. In particular supporting activities around the patient flow.
  • To undertake personal development as identified through performance and appraisal reviews.
  • To work towards a MCA qualification
  • To assist in the sale of OTC medicines and provide information to customer on symptoms and products
  • To assist in the supply of prescribed items (taking in a prescription and issuing prescribed items)
  • To deal with front of house medication queries; liaising with relevant staff to obtain answers for patients

The successful candidate should be courteous and professional at all times, you should be organised, be able to demonstrate initiative with excellent communication skills, backed with the ability to build strong relationships with hospital staff. Flexible working hours are essential for this role.
